The Importance of Men's Annual Exams
An annual exam is the single most important thing a man can do for his long-term health. It’s a time to check in on everything from heart health to cancer risk, and to build a trusted relationship with your doctor. Regular visits allow for early detection of serious conditions when they are most treatable.
FAQs
At what age should I start getting regular check-ups?
It’s important to have a primary care physician at any age. However, routine annual exams become especially important for men starting in their 30s and 40s.
When do I need to be screened for prostate cancer?
The decision to screen for prostate cancer is a personal one. Dr. Ibrahim will discuss the risks and benefits with you, typically starting the conversation around age 50, or earlier if you have risk factors.
What is Low-T (low testosterone)?
Low testosterone is a condition where the body doesn’t produce enough testosterone. Symptoms can include fatigue, low libido, and mood changes. Dr. Ibrahim can perform tests to diagnose Low-T and discuss treatment options.
Is it difficult to talk about issues like erectile dysfunction (ED)?
We understand that some health topics can be sensitive. Dr. Ibrahim provides a confidential and judgment-free environment where you can feel comfortable discussing any health concern, including ED.
Can you be my regular doctor, not just for men's health issues?
Yes. Dr. Ibrahim is a family medicine physician and is ideally suited to be your primary care provider, managing all aspects of your health.
