The Botox Procedure: What to Expect

A Botox treatment is often called a “lunchtime procedure” because it’s so quick and requires no downtime.

  1. Consultation: Dr. Ibrahim will have you make facial expressions to assess your muscle movement and determine the precise injection sites.
  2. Injection: Using a very fine needle, he will administer a series of small injections into the targeted muscles.
  3. Aftercare: There is no real downtime. You can return to your normal activities immediately, though we advise against strenuous exercise for the rest of the day.

How long does it take to see results?

You may start to see a smoothing effect in as little as 3-4 days, but the full results are typically visible in 10-14 days.

The results of Botox typically last for 3-4 months. As the muscle action gradually returns, the lines and wrinkles will begin to reappear and will need to be treated again.

The injections are administered with a very fine needle and feel like a tiny pinch. Most patients experience very little discomfort.

Side effects are generally mild and temporary. The most common are small bruises or slight swelling at the injection sites. A headache is also possible but is less common.

The cost of Botox is based on the number of units used. Dr. Ibrahim will determine the appropriate number of units for your treatment during your consultation.
