The Sclerotherapy Procedure: What to Expect
Your comfort and safety are our top priorities. The sclerotherapy procedure is straightforward and performed in our office.
The Treatment
During the treatment, you will lie comfortably while the skin on your legs is cleansed. Dr. Ibrahim will then use a very fine needle to inject the sclerosing solution into the spider veins. You may feel a slight pinch or a mild burning sensation as the solution is injected, but the procedure is generally well-tolerated.
A single session typically lasts between 30 to 45 minutes, and multiple veins can be treated in one session.
After the Procedure
You will be able to get up and walk around immediately. In fact, walking is encouraged to promote circulation. We will provide you with compression stockings, which are essential to wear for a period of time after the treatment to ensure the best results.

What is Sclerotherapy?
Sclerotherapy is a medical procedure used to eliminate spider veins and small varicose veins. It involves injecting a special solution, called a sclerosant, directly into the targeted vein. This solution irritates the lining of the vein, causing it to collapse and stick together. Over time, the treated vein is naturally absorbed by the body, and the blood is rerouted to healthier veins.
The result is the fading and eventual disappearance of the unsightly veins from the skin’s surface.
