The Lab Testing Process
The process is simple. Dr. Ibrahim will determine which tests are needed based on your symptoms or health goals. A sample (such as blood or urine) is collected in our office. For tests we process in-house, we can often provide results during your visit. For more complex tests, we partner with trusted local laboratories and will notify you of your results promptly.
FAQs
Do I need to fast before my lab test?
Some blood tests, such as those for cholesterol and glucose, require you to fast for 8-12 hours beforehand. Our staff will provide you with specific instructions when you schedule your appointment.
How long does it take to get results?
For rapid tests performed in our office, results are available within minutes. For tests sent to an outside lab, results are typically available within a few business days.
How will I receive my results?
Our office will contact you to discuss your results. You can also view your results through our secure patient portal.
Are lab tests covered by insurance?
Most medically necessary lab tests are covered by insurance. However, coverage can vary, so we recommend checking with your insurance provider.
Why is in-office testing beneficial?
In-office testing is convenient, saving you a trip to a separate lab facility. It also allows Dr. Ibrahim to get important health information more quickly, leading to a faster diagnosis and treatment plan.
