FAQs

What is the difference between BHRT and traditional HRT?

BHRT uses hormones that are structurally identical to those your body makes, primarily derived from plant sources. Traditional HRT may use synthetic or animal-derived hormones, which are not identical.

When prescribed and monitored by a qualified doctor for an appropriate candidate, BHRT is considered a safe and effective treatment for menopause symptoms. Dr. Ibrahim will perform a thorough evaluation to determine if it’s right for you.

BHRT for women can be administered as creams, patches, pills, or pellets. Dr. Ibrahim will discuss the pros and cons of each method with you.

Even after a hysterectomy, your ovaries may still be producing hormones, and you will still go through menopause. If you are experiencing symptoms, you may still be a candidate for BHRT.

In addition to relieving symptoms like hot flashes and mood swings, BHRT can also help protect against bone loss (osteoporosis) and may improve heart health.
